Firetog & Co. is a Long Island-based band blending modern rock, folk, and jazz into a richly layered and emotionally charged sound. Formed in 2015 by singer-songwriter Phil Firetog (vocals/guitar), alongside longtime collaborators Liam Gordon (bass) and Johnny “Pots” Potocnik (drums), the group first emerged as The Phil Firetog Trio. Since then, it has evolved into a genre-defying collective known for its thoughtful lyricism, dynamic grooves, and captivating live performances.
At the heart of Firetog & Co. is Phil’s compelling storytelling—delivered through textured guitar work and a voice that balances vulnerability with power. Gordon and Potocnik provide a rhythmic backbone that is both intricate and deeply musical, anchoring the band’s adventurous compositions with tight, expressive interplay.
Rounding out the ensemble are a group of versatile and expressive instrumentalists: Tye Granger (tenor/soprano saxophone), Brandon Rivas (trumpet/trombone), Dustin Bartley (violin/cello), Alex Kamm (organ/piano), Mike Baratelli (tenor saxophone), and Jake Rotunno (electric guitar). When the full nine-piece power ensemble comes together, Firetog & Co. delivers a vibrant, expansive sound that blurs genre lines through intricate arrangements and dynamic improvisation. When the full lineup isn’t on stage, a rotating cast of players reshapes the band’s energy—keeping every performance fresh, unpredictable, and sonically unique.
Firetog & Co. has earned spots at some of Long Island’s premier festivals and venues, including Great South Bay Music Festival, Montauk Music Festival, Sag Harbor Music Festival, Bradstock, Mr. Beery’s, 89 North, Spotlight at Paramount, and Fresh Brewed Sessions. Their performances are marked by an evolving sound that draws listeners in—at once intimate, electrifying, and full of heart.
As they continue to evolve, Firetog & Co. offers a live experience that’s both intimate and electrifying—reminding audiences that the company we keep defines who we are and how we grow.
